Dr. Columba, a teacher educator, whose work focuses on facilitating students to make meaning in the mathematics classroom.  She has taught students K-12 for 14 years in the public schools and has been a professor and administrator in higher education for the past 18 years.  Dr. Columba has authored 21 articles on many different aspects of teaching, primarily in the mathematics classroom. Her first book, coauthored with C. Kim and A. Moe, The Power of Picture Books in Teaching Math and Science, will be published in January, 2005.
